Such a well-told fish story! It’s fun how when you share your story, I remember my own storm in a boat (sailboat, thankfully with an expert sailor as captain, but terrifying nonetheless!) story.

The shorter and less eloquently told version goes like this:

My husband and I had joined a friend and another couple on a sixty foot sailboat for a four day sail around the Georgia barrier islands. (The three guys were all in med school together, and this was their spring vacation). Captain Charlie had won many sailing competitions in his lifetime. He saw the storm coming (it looked similar to the picture in your post but with more black sky less light bt waves and sky, and blacker more violent sea). The wind picked up and the waves tossed us violently. It was terrifying and yet I knew we’d be okay because Charlie knew what to do. He sent everyone but my husband down below and we waited, rocking and rolling as he instructed my husband on what to do and they sailed us through the storm to safety.

That'll preach! You felt safe because Captain Charlie was in control and knew what to do. Awesome.

Well told, Lee. I felt as if I was there in the boat with you and Jim!
